I like it just for fun. ^^ I tried being on a team once, got too pressured. I scored and was good at it, but i quit after a month or two...

Baseball has to be the most overrated sport in existence. It sucks, and it sucks hard. It's barely interesting to play, and it's boring as hell to watch.

What do you do as a player? Let's see:

    1) Sit in dugout for 10 minutes to half-an-hour, depending on how much your team sucks. Watch your teammate haphazardly swing their bat and almost always miss the ball. Your teammates cheer him on, and you wonder how the heck they are so easily amused.
    2) It's your turn to come up to the bat. You'll probably strike out; hitting a foul ball would be a success. At each and every pitch you get built up with suspense, only to find that every other pitch is a ball -- how anticlimactic. In all likelihood, you'll return to the dugout with the disgrace of failure.
    3) If you actually manage to hit a fair ball -- and it doesn't get caught immediately, you'll get to make a mad dash for first base. This is the only mildly interesting part of the game. You'll probably make it, because the outfielders' catching sucks just as much as your own batting.
    4) You are now blessed with the task of standing on first (possibly second) base for far too long. You have a choice: Either stand directly on the base and look like a prick, or try to edge your way toward the next base and have to constantly remain tense for who knows how long while you wait for the pitcher and batter to both be ready -- which takes forever. Then, of course, nearly none of the pitches connect.
    5) Your hard work is wasted anyway, your team will almost certainly strike out before you get home. Even if you do manage to round the bases and score a point, you'll just return to being bored in the dugout. It's not like you made a difference, any idiot can stand around and run when the ball is hit -- the odds that the play will be close enough that runner skill actually matters are quite slim.

At this point, the teams switch. You head to the outfield.
    1) You spend most of the time standing there, bored out of your mind. In the entire inning, it's unlikely you will ever touch the baseball. Even if one does head your way, you're certain to screw it up and face the contempt of all your teammates, even though they suck just as much (if not more) than you do.
    2) The only good thing about being out in the field is when your incompetent pitcher finally stops walking the other team and strikes them out, so you can finally take off that stupid glove and give your sweaty hand some freaking air.

And at the end of the game, whichever team has a higher low-score than the other wins. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, the individual rarely can do anything to influence a baseball game, so you won't feel like you helped much. Of course, the Babe Ruth-wannabees will use that fact to blame everyone else if you lose, and attribute the victory to themselves regardless if you win.

Of course, you could actually watch baseball instead. You basically have two options:
    1) Go watch the game in person. This splits into two sub-categories:
    a) You go and watch a professional game. Your seats are expensive, and they still suck. You can't see the game at all, and you're probably seated beneath the big screen so you can't watch that. The fans are loud and obnoxious, and you wonder how they could be so interested. You're also hungry, because everyone in the audience is eating overpriced junk-food that you can't afford because the seats and parking are too expensive.
    b) You watch a non-professional game. The teams suck and the game is boring, and the bleachers are uncomfortable and sticky. If you're not related to one of the people on the teams, people'll think your some sort of weirdo.
    2) You watch a game on television. Strike. Ball. Foul. Strike. Foul. A hit! Out before reaching first base. Repeat twice more, for each of nine innings. To make a boring scene actively unbearable, the network will hire a couple of idiot know-it-all announcers who are best qualified to shut up, but somehow think their arbitrary and often off-topic commentary is appreciated. Top it off with commercials a good third of the time, and you get one big stinking pile of worthless.

    Baseball sucks.

The windmill beard doesn't work here, lonelypiro1337. Nor has it ever worked against me in the past!

You're just in denial. Windmill beard works in any arguement, no matter what. There's nothing you can do about it. And besides, windmill beard was not directed at you this time. It was at creativename.

It was directed at his argument, which I supported. My support of that argument can not be dismissed by the windmill beard.
